Paul van der Lubbe
paul Born: Amsterdam, April 11, 1966
Occupation: Channel Producer

I am told that during my "crouching" years I was fascinated by the sound coming out of the speakers in my parents' living room. It probably wasn't so much the style of music (classical) as the experience of sound itself that moved me. I am also told I was very fond of tomatoes.

In 1987 I joined the academy of Arts in kampen where I came in contact with Pieter's girlfriend of that time. After I told her about my passion for music and my wish to activate all those tunes I had in my mind, she mentioned Pieter who was looking for a congenial spirit. And a meeting was arranged.

Initially being the drummer nowadays I provide weird samples, spacey sounds and extremely beautiful melodies (ouch!) to the sound that us lot make.

Hans Veneman
hans Born: Lelystad, June 4, 1969
Occupation: Network Operations Engineer

In 1989 I was asked to take some pictures of a band, Art Decade. A week later I was bashing the drums, never having had one lesson! Luckily enough Pieter soon borrowed a drummachine.

It marked the change from Art Decade to TV-99-AD. From punky New Wave to electro Techno. From lyrics-with-a-message to gradually wordless instrumentals. The aspect that went unchanged, though, was experiment.

My personal influences: Patrick Cowley and Bobby Orlando (in the 1980's) via Sonic Youth and Butthole Surfers, Prince and George Clinton to Adrian Sherwood and his ON-U-Sound label. Their music has had a great influence on me. The techno of Juan Atkins, Derrick May and others from Detroit meant a culmination of stuff I liked. After a while it became the main type of music I was interested in. The Black Dog, Underground Resistance, Ken Ishii, Carl Craig, Drexciya and Basic Channel were added values to my list.
