Top: Old news: January 2000
- Pulp Phantom - Episode One: The Fiction Menace.
Some people really have too much spare time on their hands, but i'm glad they do.
- Fixed Hubble - As you may know the Hubble Space telescope was fixed recently. Some of the new pictures, like
this one of the Eskimo
Nebula, are stunning.
- Be free! - Release 5 of the BeOS (to be
released before the end of Q1) will be free for
personal, non-commercial use! I just wish they did this 6 months earlier.
- Web Log Scoop Index - Which blogger's the first with a good scoop? Find it out it in the Web Log Scoop Index, something i
found in my logs.
- Fax Machine - I found this very funny
single panel toon on Derf City via Indirection, another blog/portal made
using bk2site. On Indirection you
can also find out your
weblogger name.
- What if... - Recently there were some rumors that Red
Hat was to buy Be. Scott Hacker thinks out loud
about the possibilities.
- Don't Worry About the Coverband - I don't think i already promoted this fine CD here. Go get it, it's got TV-99-AD!
- Booty!! - The
Ghetto Tech Sound of Detroit is a nice article in Platform about the fast
paced electro from DJ Assault & friends that seems to be getting more and more
popular these days.
- Underground Resistance - The saga continues. Sony ripped off Underground Resistance by basically stealing the brilliant "Knights of the
Jaguar" by DJ Rolando. Sony backed down, but apparently they just sold the
ripoff to BMG, who are now promoting it in a big way. Please sign the petition.
- 313 pictures - This weekend i've been busy working on an online photo-album of my trip to
Detroit. It is not completely finished yet, but you can already have a look.
- Clone news - Rotterdam record shop & label Clone now have
their own domain name and a new website. Their label DUB also just released a compilation album, entitled "Nummer
Een".
- Kling Klang - Apart from releasing their first new song ("Expo 2000") in 13 years
just before y2k, Kraftwerk opened a new flashy website.
- Slashdot interviews Woz - Ubergeek Steve Wozniak answers questions submitted by Slashdot readers. Quite interesting.
- Back to life - Things here seem to be getting back to normal, so you can expect more updates
soon and hopefully some sort of report of my trip to Detroit, Techno City last december.
