Top: Old news: August 1999

  • Sega BSD - Sick of playing games on your Dreamcast? Then install OpenBSD on it! I'll wait for a Linux port to the PlayStation so i can use mine as a webserver. (Slashdot)
  • Eddy Wally! - Yes, the legendary Eddy Wally, the Voice of Europe, has his own homepage. Even without being able to understand the Dutch language you might find this site very enjoyable, but you'll definately miss out on the guestbook.
  • Reverb - Also updated is Reverb, a magazine by Dan Sicko (author of the fantastic book Techno Rebels) and Matt MacQueen.
  • Be Back - I'm sorry for being silent for a while. I've spent most of my computing time in BeOS recently and i'm thinking of moving the development of this site to BeOS as well by using TrackerBase, but this will take some time. Today i added a new bunch of links and some musical news.
  • Interference - Online magazine The Skinny has an interesting interview with I-F.
  • Better Ideas - After years of musical silence, Derrick May is suddenly back. He provided the music for a Flash movie on the Ford website. Surprisingly it's drum 'n' bass!
  • The Manual - So, you want to have a number 1 hit? Then read The Manual, written by The KLF. They should know, cos they had a few of them.
  • Wipeout 3 - The third installment of one of the most spectaculair PlayStation games, WipeOut, will be released before the end of the year, but the website is already starting a buzz with movies and other flashy stuff. Oh, and if you like The Designers Republic, you're gonna like this site a lot!
  • Solar Eclipse - If you're in Europe and haven't heard about tomorrow's total solar eclipse you must've been living under a rock for the last few months.
  • Bands Speak Out on MP3.com - Wired has an interesting article about artists on mp3.com. Record companies don't have to be scared of mp3.com (yet?), but for up and coming bands it is a great way to promote your music.
  • Let it Be - Well, sorry for the lack of updates this weekend. I've installed BeOS 4.5 last saturday and i must say i like it a lot. I'll write more about this OS soon, but for now check out the screenshot i made yesterday.
  • Outrageous On-line Uncle Al - Uncle Al sent me a link to his site. New weapons of mass consumption, not recommended for children or mammals in general.
  • M$ Typography site - I've never been a big fan of Microsoft and their products, but their Typography pages are a very good resource for everything font related.
  • Theorem mp3's - Right now i'm really enjoying some mp3's from Dale Lawrence a.k.a. Theorem. On this page you can download some of his unreleased gems. Beautiful atmospheric grooves.
  • The Athlon Family - For my next computer i'm seriously thinking of equipping it with one of the Athlon family members from AMD. A 600Mhz Athlon Professional sounds very interesting! (Geeknews)
  • Delsin launches new site - The quality techno label Delsin from Amsterdam launched its new site today. With three new releases coming up, the future looks very good indeed. The Real Audio clips are already online.
  • A to Z of Electro - David Toop wrote an A to Z of Electro music for The Wire magazine focusing mainly on old school electro. Get those sneakers out of the closet, homeboy..
  • Camworld - The very fine Camworld has a new design. Quite nice actually.
  • SGI goes for Linux - In this article you can read that SGI (the company formerly known as Silicon Graphics) will be focusing on one OS: Linux instead of IRIX. Personally i never found IRIX very stable, but i must admit i haven't used it much. (Slashdot)
